At the close of each year, PMI-NAC holds nominations for our Excellence Awards, recognizing noteworthy Projects and Program/Project Managers.   We are now accepting nominations for the 2016 awards to be presented at a formal awards ceremony on Saturday, April 8th 2016 at The Westin in Huntsville.   The awards ceremony is a formal dinner event with an expectation of business formal to black tie attire. A theme will be announced at a later date. 

A single ticket to attend the awards cermony is $50. 

There is a $100 application fee per Project or Project Manager nominated. PMI membership is not required of the nominee or nominator.  Those nominated recieve two tickets.

Additionally, you may choose to be an event sponsor by purchasing a table at either the Emerald or Ruby level in order to have your management present at the award ceremony. Each table sponsor receives one complimentary nomination and 8 tickets. More sponsorship information is in the table below.

Keynote speaker for the event is Ms. Julie Schumacher.  Ms. Schmacher is currently a defense consultant in Huntsville, Alabama. She served as the Deputy to the Commander of the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command from 2014 to 2016. As the senior civilian in the command, she provided leadership for the Army’s space and missile defense programs, acquisition, personnel and resource management.

She also served as Director of the command’s Technical Center where she led research and development for space, missile defense, hypersonics and directed energy, including operation of the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site in the Marshall Islands.

Ms. Schumacher was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in 2011 as the Deputy Director for Test for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role, she led strategic planning and execution of the Ballistic Missile Defense System test program including flight testing, ground testing, wargames and exercises. She was also responsible for a large geographically-dispersed workforce and test infrastructure.
As the MDA Program Manager for U.S.-Israel Cooperative Programs from 2008 to 2011, she led development and testing of the Arrow-2, Arrow-3, and David's Sling Weapon Systems with her counterparts from the Israel Missile Defense Organization.

From 1998 to 2008, Ms. Schumacher served in various engineering and test roles for SMDC, the Program Executive Office for Air and Missile Defense, and MDA in both Huntsville and Washington DC. From 1992 to 1998, Ms. Schumacher worked as a systems analyst at MEVATEC Corporation and as a manufacturing engineer at Square D Company.

Ms. Schumacher's awards include the AIAA David R. Israel Award for Meritorious Achievement in Missile Defense, the NDIA Defense Technical Award and the Office of the Secretary of Defense Award for Excellence. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and a Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She completed the Senior Executive Fellows Program at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, the Program Manager's Course at the Defense Acquisition University, and is Level III certified in Program Management, Test and Evaluation, and Systems Engineering. She is a graduate of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County Class 29.
